1. Unbroken ground
2. Gentle tilling of 1/4 of acre of unbroken ground, added Greenacres Dolomite Lime per soil sample results
3. Created raised beds by hand in 1/2 of tilled area, added stutzman 4-3-2 pellets and Bone meal, per soil sample results
4. Had Rexius blow 2” of organic compost over the beds
5. Planted the cloves
6. Mulched the beds with leaves from our red maple trees
7. Planted the other 1/2 of tilled area with Organic Crimson Clover for a winter cover crop. Crimson clover’s root system helps prevent erosion, improves soil tilth, helps with nutrient runoff, adds nitrogen, decreases weeds and adds lots of green manure to the soil.
